Blackjack

Updated over a week ago

Blackjack is a game of strategy and chance. The objective is simple: get your card total closer to 21 than the dealer — without going over 21.

Blackjack is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly card games in the casino.

How Blackjack Works

  • You are dealt 2 cards

  • The dealer also gets 2 cards (1 face-up, 1 face-down)

  • Card values:

    • 2–10 = face value

    • J, Q, K = 10

    • Ace = 1 or 11 (whichever helps your hand)

  • You win if:

    • Your total is higher than the dealer’s (without busting)

    • The dealer busts (goes over 21)

Step by Step Guide: How To Play Blackjack

  1. Place Your Bet

    • Select your wager amount and confirm before the round begins

  2. Receive Your Cards

    • You’ll be dealt 2 cards

    • The dealer gets 2 cards — one is face-up (the other is hidden)

  3. Decide Your Move

    • Hit: Take another card

    • Stand: Keep your current hand

    • Double: Double your bet and receive one more card only

    • Split: If you have a pair, you can split into two separate hands
      (requires matching your original bet)

  4. Dealer Plays

    • Dealer reveals their hidden card

    • Dealer must hit until they reach a total of 17 or higher

    • If the dealer busts (goes over 21), your hand wins.

  5. Win or Lose

  • Closer to 21 than dealer = win

  • Over 21 = bust = loss

  • Same total = push (tie) → bet is returned

Payouts

  • Standard win: 1:1

  • Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card): 3:2

  • Insurance: 2:1

  • Push (tie): bet returned

Bonus Tips

  • Always split Aces and 8s

  • Never split 10s — it’s already a strong hand

  • Double down on totals of 10 or 11 when the dealer’s showing a weak card (2–6)

  • Learn and use basic strategy charts for best results
