Liar’s Dice is a popular bluffing dice game widely played in bars and social gatherings across China, Singapore, Malaysia, and other Asian regions. During the game, both sides roll their dice and keep them hidden, then make declarations based on the visible dice faces. Players rely on probability and psychological judgment to decide whether the opponent is telling the truth or bluffing.
2UP’s Original version simplifies the traditional gameplay into a Player vs Dealer duel, where each round is generated through the Provably Fair system — ensuring randomness that is transparent and verifiable.
Gameplay
Dice values (1–6) are used only for counting quantities.
There is no comparison of size, and no special combinations such as pairs or straights.
The outcome depends on whether the total number of dice showing the declared face value (including both your five dice and the dealer’s five dice) meets or exceeds the quantity you declared.
The game includes two counting modes:
Wildcard (Default)
A dice face value of one counts as a wildcard and can be included as any chosen face value.
No Wildcard
Face value 1 counts only as itself, and cannot be used as a wildcard.
Special Rule
If you declare the dice face value one, the round will automatically switch to No Wildcard mode.
Declaration Rules
You may only declare a quantity that is 1 to 5 higher than the number of that face value you currently hold.
Example:
If you have ”2“ fives, you may declare “3 to 7” fives.
Round Flow
After placing your bet:
You and the dealer each roll five dice.
You can only see your own dice.
Choose a dice face value (1–6).
Choose a quantity (1 to 5).
Select Wildcard (default) / No Wildcard mode.
Submit your selection.
The system then reveals the dealer’s dice and counts the total number of the declared face value according to the chosen mode.
If the total count is equal to or greater than your selection quantity, you win.
Otherwise, the declaration is considered a bluff, and you lose the round.
Example
Your dice:
2, 2, 3, 5, 6
You declare: “5” twos, using the default Wildcard mode.
Dealer’s dice revealed:
1, 4, 2, 6, 1
Wildcard Mode Counting
Actual two: you have 2 + dealer has 1 = 3
Wildcards (dice face value 1): dealer has 2 = 2
Total 3 + 2 = 5
Since 5 ≥ 5, you win the round.
No Wildcard Mode Counting
Only the actual two are counted:
You have 2, dealer has 1, total = 3
3 ≤ 5 → you lose.
